About Marian Garden

Marian Garden was founded by Meegan Llanso — a lay convert who came to the Catholic faith following in the footsteps of the grandfather who first lit that flame.

A Family Rooted in Faith

The Llanso family story begins across the Atlantic, with a Spanish sea captain named Luis Llanso who brought his family to the shores of America. He and his wife Estella raised eleven children together, a family bound by deep Catholic devotion. Among their children was a daughter named Josephina — Pepita, as she was lovingly called — who dreamed of becoming a nun. That dream was never realized in this life. At just thirteen years old, Pepita contracted polio after drinking from a water fountain in New Jersey, where the family had settled. She passed away, her vocation unfulfilled here on earth — but we believe deeply that she has been reunited with her King, Jesus, and that her beautiful soul is at rest in His presence at last.

A Legacy Carried Forward

From Luis and Estella came a son, Joaquin, and from Joaquin came Martin Paul Llanso — Meegan's grandfather. Martin was a devout Catholic his entire life, a man whose faith was not just something he practiced but something he lived and breathed and passed on. It was Martin who carried the torch of the family's Catholic heritage and placed it, gently and lovingly, into Meegan's hands — though it would take many years and many trials before that flame truly caught.

A Gift Above All Others

Among Meegan's most treasured possessions is a Marian book that Martin once gave the family as a Christmas gift. It is a small thing, perhaps, but it carries the weight of generations — of a sea captain's faith, of a little girl's unfulfilled dream, of a grandfather's quiet, steadfast devotion. It is a gift Meegan will treasure above all others.

Through years of trials and tribulations, through the long and winding road of conversion, Meegan learned the greatest lesson life has to offer: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
